High quality dried bonito fish flakes produced by Yamaki. Ideal for dashi soup stock, and also to mix or sprinkle on your dishes to spread the rich umami of katsuo.
Dried bonito fish flakes are the most characteristic ingredient of Japanese cuisine. They are the source of umami, being traditionally used to make dashi, the base for almost all Japanese dishes and seasonings.
150g (15g x 10 bags)
Dried bonito flakes (domestic production).
Bring to boil 500ml of water, add 15gr (1 bag) of katsuobushi flakes and let it sit for a few minutes until they sink. Strain the broth with a towel-lined sieve.
Refrigerate once opened to prevent oxidation.
